About Me

My name is Hayven Stein. I am originally from Houston, Texas but moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2024 to pursue my MFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I am studying to become a director and producer. I have produced several short films, such as Colony (2025), Coming of Rage (2026), and Chrysalis (2026). Though my main focus is directing, which can be seen in my shorts, Can I Borrow A Cup of Sugar? (2023) and The Decision (2024). My time at SCAD has allowed me to find my niche in comedy, and I hope to spread laughter through my films. This coming June, I will be filming my thesis film, Acknowledge the Corn, a shroom trip comedy about two sisters’ last night together.
Recent Projects
Chrysalis
Chrysalis follows a desolate young woman navigating her first job interview at a job she desperately needs at a queer restaurant… a place she would have never considered when she attended church. Through small encounters, glances, silences, and acts of kindness, something inside her begins to shift. Coming Soon.
The Decision
After getting a diagnosis of leukemia, a young father must decide whether or not to shackle himself and his daughter to a lifetime of debt or hope for the best and refuse treatment.
Can I Borrow A Cup of Sugar?
A 360 degree horror short film to be watched in a virtual reality headset. The film follows the college neighbors, David and Mina, through their first year at college. It showcases David’s stalkerish and perverted behavior juxtaposed with Mina’s bubbly personality and naivety. Watch here
